The “Crossings” Series

These pieces speak to my lifelong love of bridges and ongoing interest in connection (and disconnection) as relational motif. They are made with acrylic and collage elements, chiefly excerpts from my poems and journal entries, old property deeds, and maps of Western Pennsylvania and other regions. Layers of paint and collage are applied and then sanded back, creating textured geographies that suggest rural, urban and imagined places.
