The Answer to the Ultimate Question of Life, the Universe and Everything

Happy 42nd birthday to me!

Breakfast: one perfect poached egg on top of sliced garden tomatoes and toast. Olive oil, salt and pepper. Husband-made cappuccino. (This meal inspired by my wonderful sister-in-law, Marie, and the book she sent me, with which I am absolutely smitten–An Everlasting Meal, by Tamar Adler. I’ll write about this soon. It deserves an entire  post of its own.)

Lunch: French apple cake at a cafe. Big bowl o’ cappuccino.

Afternoon snack: Olive fougasse with brie, prosciutto, oil-cured olives, dry-cured salami. Carrot-birthday-cake-cupcake. Husband-made cappuccino.

Yes, that’s right, I’ve had three cappuccinos today. It’s my birthday so it’s okay.

We’re heading out for a late dinner at our favorite Asian restaurant, where I am already planning on hamachi kama and sake!

I’ll be back soon with more food and musing, but in the meantime, maybe you’d like to see my new project–un-related to food, but very much connected to body and celebration.

Thanks for being my wonderful readers! xo
